As a biophysics lab, Ono Initiative funding enabled us to pivot and pursue novel chemical biology research directions that would have been impossible with traditional funding mechanisms. Perhaps more importantly, membership in the greater Ono community allowed me to learn about cutting-edge chemical biology methods and open questions -- as well as to network with talented colleagues I had never met before. Hearing about their work has catalyzed new research directions and aspirations for us and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity.
